IJM Steel Products Private Limited (IJMSPPL) is a pioneer in introducing the concept of Welded Wire Mesh in India. IJM Welded Wire Mesh (WWM) is produced using advanced European Technology in wire sizes ranging from 5mm to 12 mm in diameter. IJM Welded Wire Mesh (WWM) method of Concrete Reinforcement consists of a series of parallel longitudinal wires with accurate spacing welded to cross wires at the required spacing. The welding of the wires is achieved by electric resistance welding with solid-state electronic control and all the spacing is controlled by an automatic mechanism of high reliability. There is no foreign metal added at the joint and the intersecting wires are actually fused into a homogeneous section thereby ensuring permanency of spacing and alignment in either direction. Welded Wire Mesh strength results from the Cold-Rolled process of wire manufacturing and its welded intersections. It is a well established fact that welded deformed wire reinforcement has a significantly higher yield strength compared with Hot-Rolled rebar’s yield strength, independent of size.

Cold rolling is a metal working process in which metal is deformed by passing it through rollers at a temperature below Recrystallisation temperature. Cold rolling increases the yield strength and hardness of a metal by introducing defects into the metal’s crystal structure. These defects prevent further slip and can reduce the grain size of the metal. These bars are high yield strength deformed bars(HYSD) having yied strength of 550 MPa and confirming to IS 1786-2008.
